Local Internet Advertising Through Pay Per Click

Still relying on traditional advertising? Increase your market share through local internet advertising with pay per click. As you can see, more and more people are used to finding what they need online. This is due to the fact that people’s mindsets are this: you can always get the info you want on Google. They are tired of opening Yellow Pages and prefer instant info gratification with just a click of a button.

When the dot com boom was on the rise in the past years, this marketing strategy was to go global. It was an opportunity to get customers outside one’s reach through internet advertising. But this posed a learning curve to businesses and marketing people. They realised that they were looking for markets beyond their reach while neglecting those in their area. This is how the idea of local internet advertising was born.

Local businesses started to build websites for the local markets, called website advertising. Their pages became very interactive for lead generation. Local businesses such as pet stores, law firms and dentists all, built blogs for branding purposes with theses blogs providing valuable information to their loyal local clients. It’s also their way to get recognised locally as their sites became viral within the community.

Local businesses made their websites as a way to give what their consumers wanted to have.  These businesses didn’t just stop on doing blogs that could reach potential customers, they also utilised pay per click advertising. The one advantage of pay per click advertising is it’s measureable and controllable. You can specify what target areas of the population you want to reach. It is called retargeting where your ads will only show to those specified areas of customers.

Your advertisement through pay per click will always show at the top for every search engine searches. If a browser searches for “dog food shop Parramatta” your ads will show up. If a person is interested in your ads, they click on it and they will be directed to your webpage where they will find all of your offered services and goods. For every click you will pay it to the search engine company. Depending on the competition, the fee for every click ranges from 5 cents to $10 or more.

Pay per click is one way to get potential local customers as you build your branding as well. There are many effective ways that you could do local internet advertising but PPC is one which is most measureable and controllable. You will get exposure as well whilst doing PPC and you don’t have to pay expensive billboard advertising and waste a small fortune doing other offline advertising methods when this is potentially a more effective strategy.
